Our last week in England was spent looking at KNIGHTS! The boys in my group especially enjoyed this week! Not only did we talk about knights, but we also had a fun segue into Christmas with our last book (as you will see when you read the plans). Here are the plans I used for this last week of November.
Passport Pals: England – Knights
Welcome! Do welcome song: Come on everybody and clap your hands, stomp your feet, jump up and down, stand on one leg, spin around, sit right down, on the way to Passport Pals . . . watch me spin the globe.
We have one more week in England! Does anyone remember what continent England is on? EUROPE! Let’s do our Continent Cheer.
Continent Cheer (GGM #3)
Suitcase: armor, dragon, “sword”, horse . . . Can anyone guess what we are talking about this week? We are talking about KNIGHTS!
Read Knights (Pebble Plus)
Song: We did the following fingerplay. The kids acted this out with me)
Five Brave Knights
(Beth DeVolder & Ron Hiller)
Five brave knights came galloping by
One fell from his horse and began to cry
The dragon laughed from behind a tree,
“O brave knights, you can’t (won’t) catch me!”
Four brave knights came galloping by
One fell with the other and began to cry
The dragon laughed from behind a tree,
“O brave knights, you can’t (won’t) catch me!”
Three brave knights came galloping by
One fell with the others and began to cry
The dragon laughed from behind a tree,
“O brave knights, you can’t (won’t) catch me!”
Two brave knights came galloping by
One fell with the others and began to cry
The dragon laughed from behind a tree,
“O brave knights, you can’t (won’t) catch me!”
One brave knight came galloping by
He fell with the others and began to cry
The dragon laughed from behind a tree,
“O brave knights, you can’t (won’t) catch me!”
(slowly)
No brave knights came galloping by
‘Cuz they were crawling through the grass for a big surprise
The dragon cried from behind a tree,
“Oh no! Five knights have surrounded me!” (In a crying voice)
