We are taking a break from our regularly scheduled prayer calendars to focus for several days on specific prayer for the Olympic games. As you watch the Olympic competition together, remind your children that the people involved are all real people with real souls and a real need for Jesus. Spend time praying for the athletes and countries represented each day of the games . . . what a great way to teach your children to PRAY BIG!!!!!!!!
Before you leave, be sure to hop over and pick up your August prayer list to help you pray for your children. AND . . . I just finished my James curriculum for families and churches. This is the curriculum that our church used in all of our youth programs this past year and it is now available for YOU!! To celebrate, I am offering all of the lessons for James Chapter Five free!!!!!! Find out more here.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
